Hello,
Could someone help me locate my ancestor Jean Charles Vieillard who spent more than 25 years in Long Island from 1902 to 1930 or later (he died in France in 1947). The 1905 Census of New York State indicates : place of residence AD15 ED02. What city or community could it be at the time ? Nassau ? ,
He was a gardener. Is there a way to know what was the occupation of a person in the States at the time ?
Thanks a lot for any help !
Sylvie

I just looked at the 22 pages of the census for 1905 Brooklyn, Kings, New York; A.D. 15, E.D. 2

I could have missed a page, but I did NOT find a single person born in France, NO Charles

AND:

the occupation is clearly indicated on the image  ???

On census of the state of NY, I found  someone who could be my Vieillard, but not spelled exactly the same. It's located at Mamaroneck, Taylor's lane, near the town of Rye, county Westchester, state of NY
It could be the one...

Veillard for Vieillard , it's close enough as far the Census is concerned.  ;D

found over the years as:

Niellard
Villard
Merllard
Viellard

I remember now talking to you a while back - this forum & the French one.

Do you have more info about this:
