Greetings all - I'm confident I have my Morrill ancestors correctly identified as far back as Thomas Archibald Morrill 1375-1400. Geneanet shows his father to be John de Morley of Monmouthshire 1354-1379, and the de Morley surname for at least five previous generations. Family Search shows Thomas Archibald Morrill's father to be Sir John of Monmouthshire Morrill xxxx-1397, with the same previous generations of de Morley prior to that. Does anyone have knowledge of this transition from de Morley to Morrill, if it is in fact correct? Or any firm knowledge of this Morrill line previous to the above dates? Thank you!
