Delete duplicate spouse

I am new to this sit. Somehow I have one of my grandfathers wives list twice. Tried to delete. Didn't work Tried a merge, didn't work.

You have duplicated the marriage event not the person itself.

Please go to one of the duplicates, click "Edit" and "Edit relationship" in the menu, then click "Remove links between these individuals" at the bottom of the edit screen.
