Hi !
One of my ancestors "Bernard Sueny or Suigny or Dessugny (as written in the french documents)", married in France (city of Toul) in 1675. In the document, he is said to be an officer from english regiment of Montmouth. In another one, he is presented as an Irishman who welcome king James III Stuart. So I think that hi is belonging to the Sweeny family in which there are many mercenary soldiers. Could you help me to find the exact origin of the "Bernard Sweeny" who should be born around the year 1650 in Ireland.
Best regards,
Martine Maillard
