Familia CHICANO...España e Italia...

Busco cualquier informacion relacionada con mi abuelo paterno:

Enrique Orlando Olegario CHICANO BAHAMONDES.

Mi padre tiene entendido que nacio en España, pero no sabe donde en España. Los padres de mi abuelo fueron:

-Olegario CHICANO, supuestamente llego a España cuando joven y conoció a su futura esposa, él nacio en Italia.
-Berta BAHAMONDES, nacida en España.

Aparte de mi abuelo Enrique, se que Olegario y Berta tuvieron una hija llamada Marta del Carmen CHICANO BAHAMONDES (n. 2 Agosto 1907 - m. 19 Nov. 1999), ella nació en Valparaíso y murió en Santiago. Esta parte de la información la pude obtener en el internet.

Mi padre no sabe las fechas de nacimiento o defunción para la mayoría de esta familia...Yo solo recuerdo que mi abuelo murió en 1978.

El se casó con Emma Rosa Correa Aguilera y tuvieron tres hijos que todavía viven. Aparte de eso, no se más.

Si alguien puede ayudarme a encontrar el pueblo/ciudad en la cual los padres de mi abuelo Enrique nacieron, sería como sacarme la lotería.

Have you looked to see if your surname is listed in the Dicionario Heraldico y Genealogico de Apellidos
Espanoles y Americanos by Arturo and Alberto Carraffa? You can get copies of this major work on microfilm at tle LDS Family History Centers. The lifelong body of work outlines where in Spain the major surnames originate from and outlines some of their genealogy for you. You can search the index of this work online at the Library of Congress' Hispanic Reading room and the website Cuba Genweb has the catalog numbers for each volume to assist you in ordering microfilm from the LDS Library. This is where I started and was able to zone into a geographic area which led me to find parish records! I hope this helps you get started! Also check www.ellisisland.org because many immigrants on their way to Latin American ports (Cuba, Mexico, ect.,) in eastern cities to resupply their cruise ships from Europe and are listed there. The listing usually show what city they came from. Good luck!
