What would be the occupation of a "tenturie" living in the French village of Badefols-sur-Dordogne in 1795? I see it translated as "dyer". Would this be perhaps a dyer of paper, leather or cloth?
Tenturie - Dyer?

Yes, a "teinturier" was a dyer of textile.

Specifically for textiles? I understand there was a major paper manufacturing factory in the Badefols area at this time. Is there a different word for paper dyer?

I can't say. It depends on the local history and of the factories in that place, at that time.
